Drawing and sketching have always aided me in studying and analyzing people. Observation allows me to capture the essence of their nature, revealing positive and negative aspects. My drawings are expressions of the impressions I attain from life experiences. The distinct line work of my drawings, which I would describe as whimsical, dynamic and innocent, is a result of my observations. My pencil lines flow in a manner that seems unpredictable and rarely do I retrace a “path”. In general, I rely on my talent, practice and intuition. It feels like I navigate my pencil in space, it makes me feel free, such as flying or diving into water. I have found that when I draw my brain experiences a release of endorphins and my soul experiences euphoria, similar to the feeling I have after physical activity. It balances out the ups and downs of my everyday life. Drawing gets me back on track and prevents me from running on autopilot, otherwise I would become an invulnerable, stagnating fossil.
